About Gary
Gary is a high performance sports coach specialising in rider development, decision making under pressure, and long term performance systems within elite motocross.
With four decades immersed in the sport as a rider, competitor, and coach, his work sits at the intersection of technical execution, psychological stability, and strategic preparation. He has worked with riders competing at national, European, and world level championships across both MXGP and AMA pathways.
Gary’s coaching is built around one core skill. Pattern recognition.
Rather than focusing solely on speed or output, he identifies the underlying behaviours, habits, and decision making patterns that determine whether a rider progresses, plateaus, or repeatedly breaks down under pressure. This perspective has made his work particularly valuable during key transition phases, where raw ability alone is no longer enough.
His background includes extensive time working within high level European and U.S. training environments, contributing to rider development across amateur, youth, and professional classes. Many riders he has worked with have gone on to represent their countries at European and Junior World Championships.
In addition to his competitive and technical background, Gary is a certified coach through both the United States Motorcycle Coaching Association and John Maxwell University. This combination allows him to operate beyond traditional motocross instruction, addressing not only technique and preparation, but leadership, responsibility, communication, and personal development within the performance environment.
His philosophy is simple.
Performance is not created on race day.
It is revealed there.
For this reason, Gary does not operate as a traditional trainer. His work prioritises clarity, stability, and long term development over short term results, and is designed for riders and families who understand that progression is a process, not a single outcome.
